Prologue

James Ng Kok Boon

"When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
Things happen twice. Once in your mind, the other in action.
We write our own chapters in life, we are who we are."
and it goes on...

Job hunting isn't about interviews or first impressions, its about filling up forms asking the same questions.

1st try- Sales assistant.
We went all the way to Kallang for the interview recommended by Philbert and when we reach the office, the receptionist said

"Interview arh? Fill this form first"

They asked general questions like your name, address and telephone numbers. The funny questions they asked were like have you taken drugs before, done any crime?

So the person-in-charge told us everything about the job and all we do was nod our head.

-Get our own attire
-Must work on weekends
-$5-6 per hour
-8 working hours

No Thank you.

2nd try-NTUC cashier/stock carrier.
This time it was recommended by the other bird, Rambert.

More forms to fill up and no they don ask about crimes and drugs but,
Can you carry 10-15k of goods?
I supposed that you will be rejected if you put no since stock carrier are in demand, no?

-Free attire( I believe)
-$5 an hour
-Flexible working hours

Not Bad.

3rd try- Cafe Cartel.
We were welcomed by the manager of the cafe and when we asked for the details of the job, all he can say was please take a seat first. We sat down and he came back with more forms.

-Need to pay $40 for their uniforms
-$? an hour
-? working hours

No Idea.

I hope anyone of them will just call me because I am sick of rotting at home. Talk about complaining of the long holidays..
