It has been a great year for me so far, with many of my wishes coming true by I don't know, some unknown being? If you guys do not know, fyi I'm an atheist.

I got my bike license and a new bike which allows me to avoid the shitty public transport system (because I can teleport with my bike and avoid traffic jams)
I got into a local university which I don't have to pay a single cent for the school fees (for now)
I went to Genting and lost my entire fortune there because I thought I was Chow Yun Fatt (just kidding)

Well you can say things are getting pretty awesome along the way and I hope more will be coming as I'm going to ORD'ed for the second time!

I'm gonna say goodbye to drawing a monthly salary which allows me to splurge and now lead a sad and penniless student life.

For some reason I'm feeling jittery. Well, it happens alot of times so no worries. I think I might have some syndrome called "Moving-on-sibei-scary" syndrome.

Mehhh, come at me bro!

Have you ever missed a friend out of a sudden? What I meant wasn't those ifyouknowwhatimean feelings but just genuine missing someone out of pure friendship. Back in the good old days where people thoughts are much more simpler, gestures between friends were just based on feelings and not motives.

I bet you would definitely recall a moment when you quarreled with your best friend and wanted to cut all connections with him or her but the very next day, you guys were back as buddies again.

I mean friendship is one of the most important ties in your life, second to your family. If you look at your life in perspective, the first few people you interact with is your family and what comes after that?

You go to school and you make friends, different kinds of friends. It may come to a point that you would value your friends more then your family as the amount of time you spend with them in school or having fun is quite an amount i must say.

So before you ditched your friends and go on to pursue whatever you want to do, be it going after the girl of dreams or working like a ox, think again.

Because when people get treated like an option, they would make your life easier and fuckin leave you. Slowly but gradually and the next time you guys meet, it will be as strangers!

All these thoughts spurred me to write a letter to a friend below.

Dear friend,

It was to a total coincidence that I happened to stumble upon a email that you sent to me back then that made me wanted to write this letter to you. Flashbacks and memories started flowing back to the good old JC days. I can still vividly remember the bubbly you that couldn't stay still for a moment. The funny faces you make, gossiping like a third aunty and six grandmother in class and doodling on others lecture books.

My lecture notes are full of your graffiti of random stuffs, drawings and our mini chat room during lectures. We would always snack on this particular brand of biscuit which can be bought from a vending machine in school for fifty cents. Be it during lessons, lectures or during our breaks. However to our dismay, we found out that it is cheaper to buy it from the supermarket.

When i wanted to learn to play the piano to impress a girl, you offered a helping hand. We would practice on the only piano in school, trying to get this mozart wannabe to be able to at least play a tune or something. However till now I am unable to achieve that, either I'm a bad learner or you're a bad teacher.

At a point in time, I was on the verge of giving up and that's when you sent me that particular heart-warming email. Thinking back, I was still immature and didn't really give a hoot about it.

Right now I realized never have I been so wrong. I made some silly mistakes and lost a great friend.

How have you been?

Hope that you are doing well in pursuing your dreams.

Your words of encouragement shone my path and brought me out of darkness and I will always remember that.

Till the next time we meet,
Your lost friend

race the dead 2013
Sunday, June 9, 2013

For you L4D fanatics out there, I've got great news for you guys. Well it's not like there a real apocalypse coming but it's a little bit along that line..

Race The Dead 2013 is a new running event here in Singapore where rather then the boring running and looking at people having random asthma attacks along the way, you get to go through obstacles and the best part is... wait for it.. you get to dodge zombies!

How cool is that!

But guys just to keep the excitement down, you can't pick up a random chainsaw from the hardware stall and start chopping all of them down.

Can you survive the zombie apocalypse?

live your life

Can you still recalled the last time you try and did something new? The fear and anticipation of whatever that is going to come is agonizing isn't it? Be it going to a new environment or just picking up something new is what I'm talking about here. But this is what makes life interesting, unpredictable.

Someone once asked me before that if there is this fortune teller that offers to tell me my future, would I be keen to find out or would I refused. I would have chosen the latter. This uncertainty is what would mould us as a person. There is this saying which goes "Live like you are going to die tomorrow" which in other words is to live the best out of your life whenever you can because we will never know what is going to happen tomorrow and thus we as a individual, can give our all to ourselves and the people around you.

Never be afraid of making wrong choices! That's what I've learned throughout my journey as a teenager and we should embrace whatever that is coming for us. If that little voice in your head says do it, you most probably should just go for it as you know yourself best and no one can make that choice for you.

"What if I've made a wrong choice?" Then live with it! No one is born a winner and many great men that we have heard of experienced failures before eventually making it to the top.

Life is just too short to be grumbling and complaining, do what you love and love what you do.

Just trust me on this one, I'm an engineer HAHA
